Sony it seems you plan to screw it with grace the low rangers L3 and now L4. Who are testing your devices? I have friends that do alongside with me, both L3 and now L4 (bought recently for an old lady client) won't stay long with the same ringtone set by mp3 downloaded in sd card nor from third party ringtone apps (but only the standard that no one likes them - sounding so bad overall and are too simple, and many mp3's from the sd card), some system issue turns the non-stock-system ringtone off (sometimes after using Youtube or listening to Whtaspp sent audio\video files). It's an issue from the start - an year ago wrote by me for L3, now it's the same in L4 (and no other device of Xperia have this issue of ringtone but both low range models with Android 9). People are buying and the returning them because of this issues. Me and a friend work to a smartphone shop. Both have latest system upgrades and nothing happened in a good way. I have friends testing them and this messages are not BS, just DO SOMETHING if you want people to buy L3 and L4.
So Sony what are you are up to? Stop focusing only on top devices if you have these too! People are returning these awesome device because of carelessness to details of your system upgrades.

Did you try to set a ringtone from the system to check if the same issue happens?
From Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone > Select an option from the list > Ok
We are more than 2 people to test these devices. We are not fools! It only works by restarting the phone. Older people or inexperienced people don't need\know restarting. And after restarting, after a while and a specific task the ringtone mutes again and again and again.
Sony doesn't answer also on assistant, and who to solve these?!
If someone see these problem let Sony know, it seems nobody does nothing!
Hey there buddy, it's obvious there could be a bug with the phone app, as it should maintain the tone set. you can troubleshoot the app.
And it's a bug to all devices coming to Romania?! 4 devices are tested L3 and L4 bought to different people same issue?! It's a system issue! 10II or other devices are not having this issue (only XA2 family ofter Android 9 updates)! It's like some other company is making for these devices the system upgrades ans Sony don't care. Don't be play fool and please give pertinent advises or send these problems to Sony!
Start using L3 or L4 for a longer period of time while having many apps installed using YT and other multimedia apps to see what app is disturbing it and muting the ringtone! Then say something! We are testing in every aspect we know what we say for god sake! It's a very old unsolved issue. People wanting to set other ringtone mp3 it's useless. Latest system upgrades!

I guess just give the steps a try and see what happens, since this issue is not a repair for hardware issue. seems like it's the only option avail. Good luck to you in your noble quest.
Your advises TOMATO are not good we test that too. Most people\customers are not wise enough to do that but to return the devices in store!

Stop BS ing! Do you have these phones in your hands and used more than one day full usage of media players (YT, MESS, WTSP) and then you didn't notice the third party mp3 set by default system setting is not muted?! Help when you are pertinent of it! Wold is full of BS! Stop it and at least make someone tell Sony to upgrade\solve this crap of issue, if not here, where?! Don't complain! You are an outsider because we already tested that way!
