I believe you just need a HDMI cable. I've just had a look into the manual and I found a connection guide on page 12, you can access it through this link: http://bit.ly/2x8Nzsz.

That's correct but I don't have a spare HDMI socket on my Sky sound box to
take one, only have optical socket free.

I don't think this player can be connected via optical. It doesn't have an audio in/out jack.

Hi could I get an optical adapter so I can come out of the DVD with HMDI
and go into the Sky sound box with optical?

I don't think so. Usually manufacturers can't guarantee that the adaptors would work.
