I am thinking of buying a Sony HT-X8500 but am concerned about the power lead. My TV is mounted on a wall with all the cables hidden behind. The idea is to mount the soundbar below it but in doing so the power lead would need to be some 10 feet long to pass from the socket up the false wall and out.
From the online manual the cable does look that long, can I get an extension?
Any suggestions wellcome.

Hi @billob Looking at the manual it depends on which half you are looking at 1) Mains or 2) DC 24v. It's not clear from the manual (C7 figure 8 or C5 cloverleaf) but 1) is available to buy anywhere in any length. As far as 2) is concerned I have usually simply spliced in an extra section in the middle as it is only a DC 24v cable. However, this may invalidate your warranty!
Hi billob,
Welcome to the community.
I'll see if I can track down an answer. Maybe someone else in the community has an idea in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale

Thanks for the suggestion, as you say it's only 24 volts.
