Hi there, I'm really hoping someone can help me.
I'm a new owner of the HT ST5000 sound bar, and am looking to understand, how you can find out if you are outputting dolby ATMOS or dolby 5.1. I have searched the web, and other forums and am being told that the display button on the remote handset will give you this information. However when I press the display button nothing works at all, could the button be broken?. I'm also playing dolby ATMOS content on Sky Q and was hoping for a more immersive experience, bit disappointed.....
Hi Tonywood1970,
Welcome to the community.
I will pass this on to the team to look into and update this thread with any suggestions.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi Pascale,
If you could please that would be very helpful.
I have the settings, set to 3D surround - which I understand is correct.
Surely the display button is there for a reason.
Thank you
Tony
Hi Tonywood1970,
You need to make sure you're using HDMI as it's the only way the TV will display anything from the ST5000 on the screen since optical won't cut it. If you're already using HDMI, I'd recommend disconnecting everything apart from the TV and the home cinema and to see if anything would appear on the screen if you press the display button on the remote and to enable control for HDMI/Bravia Sync on both the ST5000 and the TV.

Hi, many thanks for the feedback Win_88,
To confirm that I am using HDMI - which are all hooked up to the soundbar, all 3 HDMI's are being used for HTPC, Sky Q & Apple TV 4K - with ARC leading back in to my TV from the soundbar.
When you say disconnect everything apart from the TV and the home cinema, should I be disconnecting - my ATV4k and HTPC, but leave Sky Q connected with HDMI from TV to the soundbar, with ARC leaving soundbar to my TV.
p.s how do I please, enable control for HDMI/Bravia Sync?
Hi again Tonywood1970
Yes I mean to leave nothing connected to your set up, so only the home cinema and the TV running. As for control for HDMI, it's an option that may be found on your TV depending on its model. It also needs to be enabled on the ST5000. You can find out how to do that on page 50 of the manual:

Hi Win_88,
Many thanks for the support so far, sorry to ask more questions - I'm really keen to understand if I am outputting DD5.1 and Atmos.
I've changed the below on the soundbar, but struggling with the TV - nothing is showing when I hit the display button.
Also when I view Sky Q using the TV input on the soundbar, I get no sound at all (currently set up on HDMI 1 which works ) - am I doing something wrong??.
On your set up, when you hit the display button - does it work for you, can you see the output details on your TV??
My TV is a Bravia X850 model I think, but I thrown the box away - any guidance would be great please.
Tony
Hi again Tony,
No need to thank me, i'm just trying to help
Is the sound bar connected to the HDMI ARC port on the TV? You can find the model number of the TV by pressing Home - Help - System information. And you might as well check the software version while you're at it.
