The features list indicates the network media player SMP-n100 can be controlled by an iphone or an android device. Where are the apps downloadable from?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes to contol the 2010 Blu-ray and SMP products as well as all the new 2011 devices, please search for Sony Media Remote in the App store / Martketplace. Free download and actually pretty useful.
Thanks
For the iphone/itouch there is sony network audio controller (allows you to send networked audio files to n100) and sony media remote which is same as the remote supplied.
I've searched the android market and can only find the sony media remote for android. I have got Twonky mobile on an android tablet that can send music to n100 but no joy with movies/photos as yet. If you search for dlna apps on market there are a range of free ones. None seem to work as well as Twonky for me (but that could be because I have Twonky on my NAS.
Thanks for that answer given that this is a feature for a large number of devices I'm surprised the detail wasn't available on the web pages for the supported devices. Come tto that why is the smp-n100 bundled in with the blu-ray players? It needs more prominence it's a brilliant little box.

Its a cracking little box and my favourite product we make at the moment. Bang for buck, it offers great functionality. I know my colleagues have to hit some big numbers for this device this year so sure it will get some more focus!
Glad you like it though!
Thanks
If Sony are looking to continue to support this device then a few tweaks might get it flying out of the shops as in someways it offers more than other streamers but is let down by a few restrictions. For me I would like to see:
4od
Album art etc./ Movie thumbnails being displayed over network content
Allow more video formats (e.g. mkv) over network
Allow apple/android apps to control video/photo playback over network (the newtork audio app works well but still can't find android version?)
More internet radio choice
Meantime its the most user friendly streamer I've come across though I know some people are still going for WDlive because of some of the n-100 restrictions.
