connecting Sony home theatre system to Sony TV without speakers?

 I have a  Sony Bravia KDL-46EX403 LCD colour TV purchased 2010 and a Sony Bravia DVD Home Theatre system bought around 2008 -  DAV-DZ260 ( but never used) but no longer have the speakers for it ( only the DVD player part).  I can only get the visual to work when I connect the TV to the DVD part of the home theatre system . I've tried using  a SCART cable and an HDMI cable. Is there any way I can get audio as well as visual through the TV with this home theatre system when I no longer have the speakers it came with or not and if so what sort of cable connector do I need or what do I need to do? Thanks very much.

Hi there

You have probably moved on from this now, but the DAV systems are designed to use with the speakers connected to the system.  You cannot output audio via DAV system to the TV speakers.
