BDV E2100 wont play any DVD's

I have a BDV E2100 which for some reason has stopped playing any of my DVD's and when playing CD's the sound is terrible. Can anyone pleas advise?

Do you get any error messages or codes eithervon the tv screen or on the player itself?

Are you able to test a bluray instead?

Hi sorry for the delay. The player has now stopped playing CD's as well. On the player it says False on the Home screen it states "cannot operate this disc". I have tried a blueray but just the same, I have played all the discs before and they was ok but there were times I had to open and close in order to get discs to play.

Hi there

Im not a technician, but it sounds like a hardware failure to be honest - possibly needs a new laser kit.

Best thing to do is contact an authorised Sony repairer, see:
