Unplug ARC to hear Atmos from soundbar
I have a UBP-X700. I have to send video HDMI 1 to tv and HDMI 2 audio to soundbar to get lossless Atmos. In order for this to work I have to unplug the ARC cable. Anyone know a way around this?

Can you give us a connection map or more info? Your question is a little unclear to me.

Did you try any troubleshooting steps? like simply replacing the HDMI cable? was it working fine before?

New hdmi 2.1 cables. It has never worked unless I unplug from ARC. I think my Samsung q90r soundbar makes the signal from ARC the priority over any other signal so it ignores the audio from the UBP-700.
thanks for the reply.

Hi,
Have you tried to connect the player to the soundbar directly or tried a different HDMI cable?
Cheers

I have a Samsung Q90R soundbar. It does not support DolbyVision so in order to enjoy both DV and DA I have to send audio out to the soundbar and video out to the tv. To get the sound to work I have to unplug the ARC cable. The great picture and sound are worth the effort. Thanks for the reply.

I had a similar setup with my Panny UHD player plugged into a Yamaha YSP-2500, which could not pass the video to my Samsung TV in all its glory, so I had to split the connection two ways, as you describe.
On starting a UHD BluRay, the Samsung would flip the soundbar to ARC (with no sound, because the UHD Player was only sending video to the Samsung, but it was a little too dumb to notice this). And I would then have to flip the soundbar to the port the audio from the UHD player was coming in on.
After which, everything was fine, and the Samsung didn’t try to flip the soundbar back to ARC again while I was enjoying the UHD movie.
My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…

Hi tntlittle, if you want the ARC benifit without the ARC cable, add an optical to this setup.
