Dear All,
I would like to ask for your help with regards to the STR-DN1080 multi channel av receiver.
I am a user from Europe and I am having trouble with the Music Center app to stay connected with my home network. My amplifier is connected to the network with a network cable and is split to 2 zones. When I run the easy setup through my tv within the amplifier interface, the network gets connected easily and i can use the Music Center app to control the amplifier via network connection. However, when I turn off the amplifier and turn it back on it cannot anymore connect to the home network.. Strange thing is that within Spotify I have the option to start playing my music via Spotify connect and it turns the amplifier on, however it doesnt anymore connect to the Home Network through Music Center app and I cannot control sounds of the zones or anything else. When I try opening the app it tells me to connect via bluetooth.. When I do, it works of course but its bluetooth connection and not home network.
Many thanks in advance for your help in this!
Regards,
Thomas
Hi Win_88,
Great, thanks for your support. I hope your contact can find the answer here.
Cheers,

I have the same issue too - If I unplug the receiver and plug it, the app connects but once the receiver is turned off and on then the app won't connect. It's very annoying and I've tried everything I could think of, firmwares/apps are all up to date...
Hi Dudexk,
Exactly... I still have the issue and I can only connect via Bluetooth since my post. No updates were done to the app ever since either. The user experience of the app is very dodgy.
Super annoying things for such an amp..
Have exactly the same problem, wired and wireless connections not holding when the amp is turned off. Very annoying? Please help?
Exactly!! Same issue remains for me. Super annoying and great shame that such a company cant solve this. In addition, since this morning when i connect via bluetooth (which I have been doing since I bought the amp, even though the biggest advantage would be wifi connection which obviously doesnt work...), i cannot access volume control for Zone 2!!!??? Ridiculous. Gonna start a topic on this.
Exactly the same issue for me (what brought me here actually...)
There is clearly a problem with either the SW on the amp or the FW on the NICs.
I can configure both types of connections fine and then they will be lost again, there is no issue with my network either wired or wireless.
PLEASE Sony at least acknowledge there is an issue and tell us how you plan to remidiate.
Thanks
Ross
I have the same issue. Last year with older version it was OK.
To those who have already posted in this thread, if you are still having this problem and are Android phone/tablet users, have you tried my app, StrRemote Pro? So as to not hijack this thread, let me know via PM if interested...
Yes please, let's see if it works...
