Sony HT MT 500 Soundbar Problem

Hello,

I own a Sony HTMT500 soundbar. A firmware update took place and has completely buggered my soundbar. 

When it loads it says please wait and then goes to a home screen where it only shows the wallpaper. Please see attached image.

I have reset it by pressing the minus button and the power button, I have tried a different HDMI port and switched it off and on again.

Sony have advised me to go to a repair centre but is there any way for me to do a factory reset without using the home button because that is where the problem lies as I cannot access the home screen.

Hi Punjabi_Gooner,

I guess something went wrong with the update and bricked the soundbar.

A factory reset won't help. The only chance is to send the soundbar to service.
