Minidisc

I have the Sony MDS-S40 Minidisc which will read some of our discs but not others . I have tried cleaning the ones that won't play with rubbing alcohol but they still won't play. The screen says Track 1,2,3 etc, but no music plays.

Some discs play fine. What could the problem be?

I believe the issue is related to the discs, can you try to test them with other device?

I ha d a different player which had the same problem so bought another player but it still won't play the same discs.

No. Different models. Although they all played on a portable minidisc player we had years ago . We have now bought the albums on CDs so I am not too bothered about some not playing.
