So I bought my Sony XPERIA e4g (E2003) around 2015, and I think something is not right with the battery percentage, because the XPERIA just shuts down at around 28-30 or even 40%, and then it refuses to reboot, and when the battery is fully discharged and connected to the charger, the percentage changes from 0% to 57-79 %! I really need help because my Sony XPERIA is my main phone for calls and etc. I can't have the phone constantly dying the whole time, I have already tried resetting the phone, and I have even wiped the memory on the phone, The battery discharges as fast as it normally would, even if STAMINA mode is on! Please help me
Sincerely TKZ_SONY
Hello @TKZ_SONY, welcome to the community!
I'm so sorry to hear about your phones behaviour! Is this something that's been going on for a longer period or has it started recently?
Have you had the opportunity to start your phone without a SIM-card, just to see how it reacts? A Damaged SIM-card can cause the phone to shut down when it looses contact with the card.
You mentioned that you done a factory reset, did you also do a software repair using Xperia Companion? If you haven't, I recommend that you try it. Just remember to do a backup using Xperia Companion before you start, so you don't lose anything important.
If your phone still doesn't work like intended after a Software Repair, I recommend that you contact your Local support so they can assist you in sending your phone to authorized service center. Thay can also provide you with information about your warranty.
Keep me posted! I would love to hear how it goes.
This has been going on for a while, I think since December or January the problem started occurring, I also noticed that the phone gets very hot, and it is hard to use because the back and the screen gets very hot after using it for 20 minutes!! I've never used XPERIA Companion because I'm no techie, and yes I have tried using the phone even without a SIM-Card, but it still discharges as fast as it would with the SIM-Card in it!
Hello again @TKZ_SONY, I hope you had a nice weekend!
A software repair using Xperia Companion may sound techy and complicated, but the program is very user friendly and with the guide linked in the clickable text above I'm sure you'll do fine! Just remember to do a backup using Xperia Companion (Also a clickable link with a guide) before you start, since a software repair works like a factory reset, except it removes all software in your phone, not just your personal data and re-installs the latest available version of the Android system.
If your phone still doesn't behave like it should, I strongly suggest that you get in contact with your Local support, as they are experts in your market and can assist you in sending your phone to a authorized service center.
Keep me updated, and have a nice dag!

I have been suffering the same problem
Yeah buddy, same here... I am from India. I too had bought my Sony Xperia E4g in July, 2015. After facing this battery problem, I replaced my battery with a new one last year(April-May, 2018 maybe). But, now, from January 2019, again facing the same problem. Now, my phone charges only about 5-10% and then, stops charging/shows that it's fully charged upto 100%, which is fake. Then, it runs only for about 5-10 minutes and battery is dead. A few years ago, Sony was a good brand. But, I am just hating Sony now-a-days!
