Sony DSC-W90 starts in shooting mode when powering on camera

The camera was powering on showing pictures in memory on the screen.  Recently, it is powering on in shooting mode- lens pops out & is ready to take photos.  How can I stop that from happening?

Hi,

Are you pressing the Play button on the backside of the camera to enter the play mode?

If so and the camera turns on in camera mode there's probably an issue with the switch board.

I would recommend to send the camera to an authorized repair centre for inspection.
