To try and solve a very sluggish KD-55XD8599 I did a factory reset on my TV and have now ended up with an older version of the software (looks like 5.433) and of course cannot update because apparently Sony have terminated software update downloads for this model. If I try and contact support I keep getting stuck with a support bot that is no use. Does anybody know of Sony have these downloads available somewhere? Surely they haven’t just closed the door on it? The screen is perfect but I must admit with the issues we’ve been having with it, eg very sluggish and signing in problems with google (username and password not recognised) I am tempted to get a new TV…..and it won’t be a Sony.
Hi @Robkr1208
As shown on your Termination of Software Update Page, you need to contact Sony Support
A seven year old Sony TV is getting on a bit. Technology moves on so fast Perhaps it is time to get a new non-Sony TV if that is your choice and you fancy an upgrade. However the last software update will be available, there is an outside chance that I link will be provided in the community if Sony Support does not come back to you.
Thanks, as I mentioned above I kept going round in circles getting stuck with the bot when I tried to ‘contact support’ but eventually, having told the bot I wanted to speak to a human, it progressed on to let me do that so just awaiting a reply now.
Hi @Robkr1208
It looks like somebody asked the same question 2 weeks ago.
