Television keeps turning off and not working with remote

Hi the television keeps switching off and doesn’t seem to work with the sky or Sony remote,Also the

volume control doesn’t seem to work from remotes,I have to turn television off at the plug socket then turn on socket and use button on back off television only stays on for a short time them turns off again has anyone no. What the problem could be.

Have you made sure that all Timers are set to off? Also try to turn off the Idle TV Standby ( Settings - Device Preferences -  Power - Idle TV Standby ).
