SONY KDL_43W807C No Sound and remote unresponsive after standby

I'm having issues with my Sony KDL-43W807C Android television where after switching the television on after stanby, the picture shows perfectly but the remote is does not respond and there is no sound. 

I have only had this issue since a recent update installed.

Does anyone else have the same issue or know of a fix?

Unfortunately this is a known issue.  It has been reported to Sony, however i do not have any further information yet.

Also having this issue. A temporary fix is to download the sony remote app (named Video and TV Sideview) on an android phone (don't know if there is an apple version, I'd guess so) and toggle the power with this instead of your physical remote. This turns off the TV properly, and you can then turn it back on and have sound, use remote etc as normal.
