Software update issue

Updated my KDL-32WE613 Yesterday to V8.609-1000-2.7-0002 via the network and since then have lost some remote functionality. Home button no longer works, just tells me to ‘Please wait and try again later’ but does not resolve. YouTube button no longer works as just get a black screen for a few seconds then goes back to TV. Tried factory reset to no avail so am stumped. TV is only 5 months old.

that’s a 2017 TV. So where’s it been for the preceding four years?

And nor is it an Android TV.

But never mind.

Though what did you update it from?

there is a prerequisite update needed. Did you do this first?

It seems to me that there might be an external device interfering with the TV or blocking some of the functions. Try unplugging the TV and all external devices from it, then turn on just the TV and try the remote again, should work just fine.

Once it does, you can connect everything back one at a time to find the troublemaker.
