Playing media from external HDD

Does anyone know if any of the media player apps can access and play content from a HDD connected to a Android TV via USB?

I ask as the folder set up in the Video app is really poor.

My tv is kd55x8509 and I have the same problem as you...it is really poor and unaccesible. I hope Sony will do something with it.
