PC to TV via HDMI does not work

I have tried to connect my PC to my sony tv via HDMI but nothing happens. I tried changing the cable and still nothing. I then used my laptop and tried to connect it, same problem. My digital box and PS4 connect without a problem. This is driving me nuts does anyone know how to make this work?

You should supply information on the TV you are trying to connect to and the setting (resolution/refresh rate) to check if they are compatible...
