KD-49X8005C Upscaling Quality

I recently bought this model and I am rather disappointed with the upscaling of SD and HD content. I have yet to update the firmware as I do not have internet access until next week. What is everybody else's experience with the upscaling, is it improved with firmware updates?

Hi there

In general, the upscaling ability on Sony's range of TVs including your own is superior than the rest of brands.  Also in general, it is not something people have complained about.

Upscaling also depends on the quality of the source material too.  Meaning if the source video is bad, then you areconly magnifying the imperfections.  

Do the FW update, and customisevyour picture settings and see how you go.
