Hi, I've had my Android TV now for about 3 months and never had any connection issues. However, yesterday the power went off and when it came back on we had no issues with any other deviced in the house, all connected and carried on working fine. The TV came back on and appeared to connect back to the WIFI, but when I tried YouTube - no connection. I tried various other apps, and only Netflix works; and works fine as I watched a movie to test it.
I have tried another router, and again everything else works but the TV is the same, only Netflix works. I have disconnected, reconnected, connected with manual password, connected via WPS still the same. I saw a post that suggested WIFI direct causes an issue, but mine is not on. In fact, I put it on, tried it, then off and tried again and it made no difference.
I went into the 'initial setup' for the TV and started again, but still the same. I have been into the network settings and tried setting it as IPV6 but that doesn't work. So, any help would be appreciated.

THANK YOU 1963th OF THE BOTTY’S, YOU ARE THE HERO 2020 NEEDED. THE OTHER BOTTYS, YOUR PEOPLE, MUST BE PROUD OF YOU.
Thanks. worked like a charm. Although, the whole issue is weird. How come a date changed to network fixed everything up. Sony should fix the glitch.
My sony tv would not connect to internet the problem was as described by others the date and time were incorrect
thanks for your help.
I was going nuts until I found this 😙
I spent ages trying to sort this out until I came across this solution. Fixed in 2 mins. Thank you
Spent like an hour playing with my pre-established DNS filtering because I figured that must be the cause, nope just the time was screwed up. Cheers!
I checked the time on my TV and it was a few months out. I set the time and date to network settings. All worked immediately.
Thanks for this
Brilliant - thanks so much for posting - worked first time!!
What an issue!
i have tried the following:
reset my Sony KD55AG8
reset my sky router
removed internet profile and rejoined
amended the date and time
ensured the software is up to date.
after speaking with sky I followed the same process, they checked status of all devices and all other devices are connected fine. Phones, tablets and tv boxes.
this tv is only issue.
I spoke to Sony who advised the same instructions as in previous comments - amend the date and time remove the internet profile, restart tv and add the internet profile
it worked for 2 minutes. I was able to connect to YouTube and the internet. I was also able to cast from my devices to the tv. Then suddenly it went off again.
I called Sony back with my case number to advise. They explained there are common issues with this tv and connections to routers. Something to do with Lan connections or IPV6 which if amended can void any warranty.
now the internet continues to connect and lose connection regularly. I have switched WiFi off and arranged a booster through my internet provider to ensure the connection can be wired and possibly stronger. I’ll wait to see if this wired connection solves the issue.
It’s simply frustrating- we should make use of a tv smart features and be able to use them.
Tentatively waiting until the booster otherwise Unfortunately a call to Sony or shop the tv was bought from to exchange.
if anyone knows of another work around please share.
A workaround was posted somewhere on the forum a few days ago (can't find it atm).
It was changing the Date & Time settings to "Use Network Time", but from your description you may have already tried it, but wanted to highlight it anyways in case you didn't.
Not sure what you mean by "changing IPv6 voids any warranty", can you clarify that point?
