BT Sport App

I am trying to load the BT Sport App from Google Play store, but it does not seem to exist within the Store on the Sony TV

BT Sport is a provided "3rd-party" service. Whenever that's the case, the issue could be from the provider or the device manufacturer (software side, which may include Google here and not just Sony). If there are no other apps failing or disappearing, then it's more likely (but not necessarily) an issue from the provider side.

It's not ideal when there's an issue since there are so many "parties" involved, which is why this community forum is so powerful when it comes to an issue like this. People rally up on the same thread until they finally reach some sort of conclusion or it ends up being noticed by Sony and gets fixed in one way or another.

As a statement of the situation I agree with this but it does not help
provide a pathway to solving the problem so adds little value. Fortunately
the problem has gone away but there is no log or trail that I can find that
gives any clue as to why, or what to do if it happens again.

Frankly knowing what I do now about Sony I would not recommend them. Maybe
others' kit is no better but I have found other shortcomings with the
software, not just this, so I would not recommend them to others. My reason
for buying Sony at a premium price was to get a premium product but I have
not found this to be the case. The picture is excellent but now I expect
a good quality software/firmware & control features offering.

Next time I will try another manufacturer - maybe I will get similar
problems but it seems nigh on impossible to get a really good insight until
you have installed the device and worked with it. And by then it is too
late if it falls below expectations.
