Android TV guide not working for catchup, but iplayer etc ok

on my two year old tv, for the last couple of days I have started see 'not available' when I try scrolling back through the TV guide for programmes broadcast yesterday or before.

No problem with the internet, I can still find previously broadcast programmes by launching BBC iPlayer, or the YouView app, from the home page, but that seems a long long way round compared to browsing back from the main tv guide.

Factory reset fixed this, but goodness knows why that was necessary...
