2TB Sky Q box. My AF-9 Sony tv will not offer me UHD in 10 bit despite doing the latest upgrade. Is it the Sky Q box possibly that is only offering me the option of 8-bit?

Hi @PaulinBont
There is a good chance that your buried HDMI cable is the problem. It needs to be a high speed cable, preferably under 3 metres in length for 2160p 10bit if it is a passive cable (not fibre optic). Up to 5 metres may work with the correct specification. Anything over 4 years old is probably beyond its sell by date and only HD. If possible buy a high speed cable (under 3 metres) and rule it out or in. It should cost you less than a tenner.
Hi @PaulinBont
1. Are you using the supplied HDMI lead that came with the Sky Q box?
2. Have you enabled Enhanced 4K mode on the TV? Settings -> External inputs-> HDMI signal format.
3. Are you using an Enhanced HDMI port. (See 2).
4. Are you going direct from the Sky Q box to the TV?
His and thank you for your reply; I'm connected directly to the Sky 2TB box via HDMI 2 according to 'Settings'. The cable is buried in the wall now but I'm not sure what spec it is?

Is HDMI 2 one of the Enhanced ports?
