NEX-5 noisy shutter problem

I have a Sony NEX-5.  The shutter makes a loud noise.  Is it possible to silence it?

As it is not a synthetic sound, I don't think this is possible.  It is the actual sound of the mechanical shutter.

The NEX-5 uses a real, mechanical, focal-plane shutter like a SLR or a DSLR.

Like a DSLR, the shutter sound can be a little too audible in some situations.

The AF 'BEEP' can be reduced or silenced but not the shutter.
