I have a NEX-5 and want to use a Pentax -A Zoom lens (KA mount) is there an adapter to enable the use of the Pentax
Zoom lens?

The majority of the adaptors I have seen and use do not have any electronic contacts so simple is a mount between lens and body. Since they are full of air, in theory there should be no image degredation so the same sort of purple fringing or distorsion should be virtually the same even when compared to the lens' native body.
At the moment, I use Canon lenses but the limitations are, no aperture control so all of my lenses are used wide open which is great since it suits my style BUT the limitation is faster lenses become unusable in bright light even with the ISO at its lowest. Best alternative would be older SLR lenses with an aperture leaver.
There are many adaptors available for all brands but as you mention, Novaflex are providing the best quality from my testing so always worth looking at.
One thing which is enjoyable with the NEX and third party lenses even with manual focus is the peak focus option which highlights the parts which are in focus in a colour of your choice which makes it handy. Personally I have not used autofocus in the past 3 months because of these new manual focus options.
You can get them but I believe you lose some functionality (eg. no autofocus) and there have been concerns about image quality. If you have a very high quality lens this might not be an issue, and some peoiple do actually prefer manual focus...
Most availiable mounts for non-Sony lenses adapt to Alpha bodies; there's also an adaptor for Alpha-compatible lenses to fit NEX bodies. I know Novaflex have recently released a new Pentax>Alpha adaptor, for example, but not (as far as I'm aware) anything to adapt directly to NEX bodies. Using two adaptors (Pentax > Alpha > NEX) might be possible, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it.
If all that hasn't put you off, I'll don't mind making some more enquiries for you
Cheers
Mick
