I've never used Program with the A7R5. Now I need to Demo a few features for my Class. I have Auto ISO set to 50 - 16000 and Min SS set to 125. In Program when I alter Aperture/SS the SS goes below 125 while ISO stays at 100. If I switch to Aperture Priority everything works as expected and I maintain 125 Min SS.
I checked my settings and read the manual - has anybody any ideas ?
Yes I do mean Program Auto. Thanks for responding.
Yes. As I mentioned in the original post, I've checked my settings and read through the manual and help guide to no avail. The manual mentions that Minimum Shutter Speed can be set when using Auto ISO for both Program and Aperture Priority Modes. When I switch from Program to Aperture everything works as expected.
SatoruGojo, thanks for responding. It seems that as soon as I rotate the front dial the mode changes from Program Auto to Program Shift and Minimum Shutter Speed no longer applies. The Manual is far from clear on this. Most of those taking my Tutorial were using Canon. Nikon, and other brand cameras and their ability to use Min. Sh. Speed worked in a more logical manner than Sony.
My solution with Sony Cameras was to use Aperture Priority. The downside was additional anxiety for a group I am trying to move gently away from full Auto Mode. Adapt and Overcome, as they say.
