Listen, SONY (& community of enthusiasts) ~ maybe I'm stupid, but I'm certainly very annoyed while trying to figure out how to take a freakin' selfie with the A1. The camera is NOT focusing (on the eyes of the subject - me) while trying to take a self-timed selfie. I push the shutter, the camera focuses on whatever, I step into the picture and I take bracketed shots. The camera never focuses on my face. It's taken me 30 minutes to go through online files, change lenses, and camera settings, and troubleshoot just to realize that this (in my opinion) overpriced camera is not capable of a simple function like that. So, I'll do it with my iPhone! But this can't be correct. I must be missing something, right? Would you please help me figure this out, or let me know that this camera is not capable of that? Thanks in advance, Omananda
That's not really helping. I set the camera back to factory reset and tried shooting on automatic, still not focusing, so I must conclude Sony has not worked that out. Dissapointing that is.
Actually I have no experience with selfie on alpha cameras (actually nor also with smartphone:) ), but you should try two way.
- 1 - try to select AF-C mode (I don’t know if it’s admitted)
- 2 - use your smartphone for remote control the shooter (imaging edge mobile at the moment)
the point two work for sure, but is a work around
For me, I think you're looking at it from the wrong angle!
There's a very interesting note that says ''If the setting for [Switch V/H AF Area] is changed, the focus settings for each camera orientation will not be retained.''
-During the countdown for the self-timer is listed as one of the options: https://cutt.ly/u5UNCOF
