There's extreme lag when auto brightness adjusts in A14. To recreate this problem:

1. Increase light coming to phone to trigger auto brightness increase

2. Decrease light coming to phone to trigger auto brightness decrease.

- When auto brightness decreases, there's extreme lag. The lag goes away a little while after brightness has settled.

This makes the phone practically unusable in A14. This isn't tolerable in everyday use. The user experience is extremely poor.

This particular issue wasn't present in A13. I've downgraded and using A13 now. But hey this and other refresh rate related issues such as 60hz in youtube, and refresh rate dropping randomly throughout the UI, must be solved in next software release, these phones are quite expensive. Historically Sony phones had the most stable and fastest software in Android, such as XZ1 and Xperia 5ii, but honestly, what have we gotten into nowadays?

Forget those, I've re-flashed 67.1.A.2.264 firmware for XQ-DE72 still same. So I'm back to 67.0.A.6.99 A13 which doesn't have this issue.

Even in A13, refresh rate tends to drop in every few hours, but I can use SetEdit SettingsDatabaseEditor to force 120hz all the time, so I don't face that issue.

But in A14 SetEdit doesn't work, so I'm forced to use A13 which is very disappointing.

I see 67.1.A.2.270 is released but no release note is available, so I'm not sure if these issues are fixed, but it's unlikely they've been fixed.

Can we please offically report this bug to Sony ASAP. I'm not alone facing this, other users, even on other Xperia devices facing same issue in A14. Please see below:
