Hi All,
I bought a brand new Xperia 5 phone. Started it up a few days ago and transferred my data from my old Xperia. So far so good. However, after a couple of hours of sporadic use (mainly being idle) the phone shut down due to "high temperatures". After a reboot the battery temperature shows 22C. Which shouldn't make the phone shut down. I've seen it reach 35C during charging without shutting down.
It has been doing this for a couple of days, around 2-4 times a day at random intervals. (Battery temperatures never reaching over 28C at shutdown)
I've tried a factory reset a couple of times but this did not solve my problem. To me it seems like the temperature sensor is giving false readings forcing a shutdown.
Anyone experiencing similar problems or know a way to fix this?
Yeh, take it back or send it back to the retailer, or get it serviced.
hello @Alx95
are you still experiencing these problems?
try to boot your device to safe mode. and observe your device. it the problem doesn't arise. it might be one of the apps you installed that is causing the problem.
This would happen to me, especially with using it as a hotspot or watching movies.
Just recently, I unlocked the bootloader which reset the whole device. Now, it works very well and has fixed the issue.
Of course you don't need to unlock the bootloader, just perform a complete factory reset (AFTER backing up your stuff).
