Xperia 5 not even 1 year old and battery is fried

I've been a customer of Sony products for years from first gen smart phones to sound bars and smart TVs even a watch... But now I've come to the end.. as my latest Xperia phone has lost its ability to keep its battery life over heating and charging 3 plus times a day!. It's time to change... As my phone isn't even a year old yet.. I thought products were supposed to get better! With the expense of new phones and the price I paid for this one.. I'm one unhappy camper.. thanks sony

I'm sorry to hear about this, did you try to reset the phone to it's factory settings? sometimes it helps
