can't register a "XQ-AS52" as it is not a "Xperia 5 II" error

Trying to register a product on my Sony profile and it refuses as the IMEI declares itself as a "XQ-AS52" which is not the same as the drop down "Xperia 5 II" selected to register.

hello,

I have the problem too,

the tab is updated with the Xperia 5 ii,  they added it, but there is an error,

XQ-AS52 is the internal model number linked to my imei

and this is not recognised as an Xperia5 ii internal model number

This is a website issue that needs to be addressed by Sony, you can contact your their support and report it.

as the drop down "Xperia 5 II"   then errors out with the imei being seen as "XQ-AS52"  I looked at the drop down and saw there was also the option "other" handset.. where the imei is accepted...

May be one day Sony will look at their database and correct it out.

I would recommend contacting support on this (I did when I had the same issue), the more of us that raise it the more likely it will be fixed - classic Sony though, have a new device and the backend of the website unable to process; most likely due to the fact it's not a full global rollout until later in the year (for US) and until that side of the pond complains...

Well finally had some feedback from support -

"

Kindly be informed that we have received feedback from the relevant department, and they have reported a work around the issue, when registering your product, choose "other" from the model list and enter the correct IMEI, and it should register fine, and the website will be updated later with the correct models.

"

So that's the official response right now...
