Hi All,
I've just changed from LG G5 to XZ1 and right now I'm thinking of keeping the G5 and sending XZ1 back due to some increadibly minescule issues I have so maybe I'm just doing something wrong... Thanks for all the help in advance.
The double tap - yes I've seen this in other forum, absolutely mind blowing, my wife's Xperia X compact can do this. Anyway, it's not a show stopper, it's just an incredible miss.
Dimmed clock on sleep screen - On the G5, the clock is always displayed with small icons of notifications (like Gmal or O365 notifications etc). When my ZX goes to sleep, the screen turns black and that's it. Again extremely annoying but I'm sure it's just me doing something wrong. Any chance you can make the lock screen always display at least the clock and some level of notifications? Perhaps via a 3rd party home screen app?
I know it's an absolute 1st world problem but I can't afford not to have this visible as I'm sitting on meetings 70% of my working time and touching my phone would be considered rude. So to me it's important to see at least briefly what is the time and what type of notifications I'm getting.
Otherwise the phone looks stunning and the camera is great so it would be a shame to go back to the LG.
Thanks
Mark
You can get a dimmed clock on the sleep screen. If you click on the Clock app, tap the 3 dots, there is a Desk Clock option. It will dim and stay there after a minute or so, probably depending on what time you have set for the screen to sleep.
I have no idea if you will get notifictions or not, you would need to enable the Desk Clock and get someone to send you some.
Thanks Tizer, it does work but after 30 seconds thephone goes to sleep turning the screen completely black. I'm attaching a picture from my LG G5 to see what I mean.
Anyway, I'm returning the phone on Monday as these two missing features are so annoying once you get used to them. Shame because it's a really god phone otherwise.
My apologies MarkMitro, the only times I have used the Desk Clock were when the phone has been charging and it does work as described when charging. I now realize that it does not work when not charging.
Hopefully Sony will implement these features in the future now that they have been highlighted.
