Headphone socket

My headphone socket works fine with the supplied headphones, but simply refuses to work with any other output device. I've tried 4 pole and 3 pole jacks ...and absolutely nothing works!! I've also tried a 4 pole to 3 pole adapter...same thing. Help, please as I do like to play music through good speakers.

Are you testing CTIA or OMTP headphones?

I have no idea I'm afraid, but I've sorted it out. I uninstalled Smart Connect and deleted all its data, then reinstalled it. Bingo, it worked! Thank you for your interest.
