Hi
I just got my Sony Xperia XZ today, and it has exactly the same problem I had before with the Z3.
Please note that this is straight out of the box experience, I have installed only a few apps, such as Spotify and Twitter.
When I plug in my headphones (Audio Technica ATH-CKS55i) (they have a mic as well), they are properly detected by my phone. I then proceed to listen to something from Spotify, or Youtube, it doesnt really matter what, because even if I just leave them plugged in, without any sound or music playing at all, after a few moments (usually 10-20 seconds), the detection of the headphones are lost, and the music is either paused or plays through the speakers.
I have a few other phones I've used my headphones with, without any problems at all. Such as Samsung S7, Lumia 1520, Lumia 950 XL, Samsung Note 2, as well as my stationary computer with built in soundcard (realtek) and a Fujitsu LIFEBOOK NH532. Only the Xperia XZ(and my old Z3) has this issue.
Does anyone know of anything that might fix this problem? It has to be software, but what could it be, something built in to the Xperia line? Some setting I don't know about?
Would gladly appreciate some help as I've searched for hours upon hours for a solution to this problem with no avail.
Thanks for reading
I've just got my XZ (international version from Dubai Duty Free) and now the headphone jack won't recognize the headphones (even the official Sony ones) at all. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I think it's a hardware issue as the jack doesn't go in completely like it does on my Z3C.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
I recently got my Sony Xperia XZ, all is great but when I plug in my Bose earphones they connect and play sound perfectly for a few seconds then somehow disconnect from the phone. They are a standard 3.5mm connector and the fact that they initially play sound should mean everything is working... for a few seconds anyway.
Help!
thanks
I got exactly the same problem and still have no answer
I had high hopes of this issue being resolved with Nougat, however, this is not the case. It gets even worse: on MM the phone would detect the headphones and after a few seconds it would loose them. Now it doesn't appear to be detecting them at all.....
Hi all,
For anyone experiencing this, please make sure that you are using a headset/headphones that is compatible with Android devices. Some headset/headphones may have different version for Android devices and iOS devices. If you are uncertain about your headset/headphones' compatibility I recommend that you contact the vendor or manufacturer and ask about compatibility with Xperia devices.
Hi,
I have the same issue as well. I'm using Bose QC20 for Android earphones. They work fine on my HTC and partner's Samsung phone. Oh, and BTW, they also work fine on my Sony Xperia Z2 tablet!
Is there an upate on the horizon to fix this? It is very annoying as I'm rather fond of my earphones. I wish I'd known about this before purchasing the phone last week.
Regards, Irene
I have the same issue with my xperia xz that i bought just december2016. my bose headphone only works around 2secs each time i plug-in.
An alternative solution is to install Sounabout app. This works for me..
but still, i think Sony has to do something with an update inorder for this issue to be solved.
Hi, I have the same problem with my bang and olufsen H3 earphones. Plug them into the xz, they work for a few seconds then sound reverts to phones speakers. They are the ios version of the H3's, but they work perfectly on my xperia Z4 tablet and my NWZ A15 walkman. I have found if I press and hold either the volume button or call button on the earphones, the earphones will work. Anyone know where I can buy a crocodile clip?
Music stop playing in my Bose QC25 after 5 sec. Then it turn the sound on my phone, and in the QC25 there is no sound. Cant figure out what is wrong.
