Blank screen but device functions

I was using my phone and the screen cut out.  Not seeing any response, I rebooted my phone a number of times before realising it was actually rebooting.

I've managed to answer calls and enable the WiFi from memory of what the UI looked like, so the screen is still working as an input device but not output.

@Whiyyou could try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion, but it sounds to me like a hardware issue. if the software repair doesn't fix your phone, you should contact your Local support to arrange sending your device to them so that they can take a look.

Yep.  I think it is hardware too.  Tried a number of different restarts and can't seem to use the (Xperia Companion) repair utility without being able to unlock the device.  O2 UK have been mostly unhelpful with a long 10 day expected turn around without the ability to give me a loan phone!
