Wifi connects but doesnt work

had the phone 2 days on 02 and already been told by them that youtube doesnt work on w995 and 02 (great move)

now I am having problems with wi-fi

I search and find 5 networks near me, 3 are password secure, but two are open, security none and I connect to it. Green icons comes up tells me I am connected

but then when I go to iplayer or internet get the wifi error (commuication error, try again, turn off wi-fi contact service provider)

but if the neighbours btopenword is open surely I should be able to connect through that as its not password protected even thought its not mine?

any idea whats wrong?

If you go to: Main menu--Settings---Connectivity--Internet settings & Streaming settings: under both of these, make sure that the Connect to is set to the O2 data account and the Allow local conn. is set to Yes.Then try connecting to the internet, iplayer and Youtube over wifi.If you still can't, create a dummy internet account under Connect to (just give it a name, select and save it--no settings required) for both Internet & Streaming settings and try again.Let me know what happens.

tried it all no luck

for some reason youtube works but wi-fi doesnt

sent me a new phone

get the green icon but still get the message that unable to connect and switch wi-fi off

the network is open and no seciurty and there are a few more about but although i can connect it wont work. even tried the dummy account

any help please?
