I am running PC Suite 1.6.0 on a Windows 7 Ultimate PC. I can connect my W960i to the PC in 'Fast File Transfer' mode no preblem. However, I cannot connect in 'Phone Mode' to the PC Suite or in Bluetooth. I am trying to keep my phone sync'd with Outlook 2010 calendar and contacts.
I have tried rebooting the PC without disconnecting the phone, re-installing the PC Suite, re-installing the PC suite with McAfee disabled, changing 'Compatability' settings in Windows 7 for the PC Suite to XP Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3. Tried a 'Master Reset' and I have confirmed I have the lastest Software Version on the handset.
I have run out of ideas now. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
You can try re-installing the phone's software via the SE update application on your PC.
Will try that now.
Will post again shortly with results.
Same result. Phone connects fine in 'File Transfer' but will charge only in 'Phone' mode.
I noticed during first connection in 'Phone' mode a Windows balloon notifying searching for drivers, this failed with 'Device disconnected' message. Still stuck.

Dr_Chris,
OK. No hub. Tried a restart with phone connected. Check device manager, COM 11 is Sony Ericsson PC-Connect Port and COM 19 is Sony Ericsson W960 Application Port. No other phone or PDA Software installed and tried a clean install with McAfee disabled. Spyware scan came back clear. Unfortunately I'm a carer for 2 disabled kids and a single Dad so live on benefits and don't have the option of another PC to try.
Any other ideas?
