Problem with Application updates

Since the last few days the Google Android Marketplace shows that there are updates available for a few of the applications that I have installed. But when I try to install them it says the download is unsuccessful. My connection to the internet is pretty good and I am able to browse, mail and chat, but the application updates seem to have some problem.

Today I tried installing a new application and faced the same problem. Anyone else faced this problem? Any idea whether this is a instrument or mobile network or Android Marketplace issue?

I use the XPERIA X10 Mini Pro with 1.6

I have the exactly same problem. Dont know if I should try and update the sw even though I read about some problems coming with that or just wait for the new Android version thats coming soon and hope that it will solve this problem.

Go to the "All" tab and select "Market"
Click "Clear data" this will reset the market app and fix the problem.'

Try this it just fixed mine

The problem is caused to an update of Android Market. To overcome this,  go to Settings> Application> Manage Applications & find  Android Market from the list. Select Android Market and click Uninstall  Update.
