How do I install apps?

Okay, I downloaded a .apk file, and I've had a look to see how to install it but I can't find anything clear.

Can someone help?

You will need a file manager, something like Linda or Astro both free from the Android market are good.  The located the .apk file on your SD card with it and it should give you an option to install.

And, just in case this isn't obvious, you get to the Android Market from the 'Market' application on your phone.  You'll need an internet connection and a Google account to use it.
