Emergency Calls Only

Please can anyone help?

I have a Vivaz phone and although it can receive calls and send/receive text messages, it often gives the message 'Emergency Calls Only' when trying to make a call.  This is not a SIM card issue as I have tried other SIMs in the handset but I get the same error.

There are various forums with people saying the same thing but there doesn't seem to be any answer to the problem.  In these forums, people on different networks have posted problems meaning it is not the network at fault either.

Have you ever updated the software or had a technician look at the phone?

Since this has not effected all devices out there, it is obviously an isolated problem that can be resolved.

Hi, Had this problem and I resolve the issue by doing the following

Click Menu

Click Settings#

click connectivity

Click network in use

     in operator selection click where it says automatice

Click Manual

The phone will search

Select Orange

Phone will request

Then you will get a message that says something about Home network selected... might not be exact.

This is obviously not the best option, but it resolves the problem, until it happens again.
