Xperia X Compact Does not Ring

My phone rarely rings and mostly calls goes right to voicemail. The volume is at the max. level and "Do Not Disturb" is Off. I had MetroPCS trouble shoot it for over an hour but no luck. Any ideas?

If you look at 

Settings > Sound

are you sure that the Ring Volume is turned all the way up? When you adjust it you would get an idea of what the volume of the sound should be like.

Other than that, you could be having cell reception problems, and later, when reception is better, receive the notification of a missed call together with a possible voicemail.
