Xperia performance problems sharing links

I've been really enjoying the feature that let me share links directly into my messages and straight to a conversation that I am having but I am having some problems with it. I can send the link no problem but then when I go back to the conversation later the link will still be in the conversation saved as a draft. I delete the link, close the phone, go back into messenger and the link is back again. Sometimes the link will pop up in other conversations as well. I currently have one link that I have deleted at least 15 times and it just keeps coming back. Anyone else having the same problem or know how to fix this?

I'm sorry to hear, must be very annoying to have this link show up in other conversations.

Has this been happening since you started using the phone or did experience this after updating your phone or after installing a new application?

When you share the links, is it directly into the inbuilt Messaging application in the phone, or are you using another application for messages?

Could you please try and see if this happens when you share links from different application if you aren't already doing that, for example share a link from Chrome.

I would recommend that you clear data for the Messaging application, this will not delete any SMS or MMS messages that have you sent or received, it will only delete the data for the application. To do that go to Settings > Apps > Messaging > Storage > Clear data.

Thanks for getting back to me, I have tried clearing the data from the Messaging app but the problem has still been there for the last few weeks.

I'm using the built in Messaging app for this and the problem is there with every application I use, reddit and Chrome mostly.

I haven't been using this feature for the entire time I've had the phone but it has been happening ever since I started sharing links directly into messages. I haven't been able to make a connection between any apps or updates and this happening but it has been happening more frequently with the links showing up in more conversations and taking longer to go away. I'm having to erase the link at least 15 times before it goes away for good.

I'm sorry that I forgot to ask the last time, when you say you can see the links in other conversations. Is that just in the field where you are gonna type the new message or do they actually show up as sent messages?

I tried to replicate this in an Xperia X Performance running Nougat (I shared links from both Chrome and the Reddit application). I did not experience the same behaviour that the link is still shown in the field where you type the new messsage or that it showed up in other conversations that I have.

If you manage to get the link deleted from all conversations, could you please try and reboot your phone in safe mode? While in safe mode share links from Chrome to a few of your contacts using the Messaging application and see if you are expericining the same behaviour that the link is still lingering when switching between conversations.
