Headphone problem, keeps cutting out and playing though speakers
Hi.
I have only had my X for under a month. I went to view a youtube video, put headphones on (AKG K451) to not disturb people, and about 30 secs in, it paused. I pressed play again, and the phone played the sound through the speakers, even though the headphones are plugged in.
The headphones work, but the phone seems to reject them. I have tried other headphones, they work fine?? The headphones work fine with my laptop and other devices? Any ideas? I cant be arsed to send it off to get fixed as I've just got it and transfered all my data onto it.
Thanks in advance.

Based on your description, there's nothing wrong with your phone, there's nothing wrong with your headphones, just a compatibility issue.

It is not a compatibility issue, it is a problem with the phone. I have this problem with my Xperia X too.
I am using headphones through the 3.5mm jack. If I stop playback and then resume it a short while later (maybe after using a few other apps in the meantime), the sound will come through the speakers, rather than the (still attached) headphones.
Please fix!

I am also having the same issues and have found the following:
* When listening to music through Google Play Music the headphones disconnect when screen turns off, the headphones need to be reset before they are recognised again
- this happens with Bose QC20 but not B&W P5's
- It is definatly a software issue but unique to specific hardware models
- When using SoundAbout you can overcome the headphones switching off but you need to manually switch when you want a different output
Cheers.
