Voice message feature on Facebook messenger doesn't work.

I cannot erase individual messages nor record messages in Facebook messenger on my tablet. I have cleared the cache and reloaded messenger three times and it is still the same. If I press on an individual message the screen rotates not allowing me to erase it. Received vocal messages won't play at all and I cannot record messages to send to friends either
