Touch controls on WH-1000XM6

I just got a pair of WH-1000XM6 headphones and love them. I only have one problem. I knew they weren't waterproof when I bought them but figured if it was raining I'd just wear a coat with a hood when out walking. When it's raining heavily, my hood gets slightly damp and then when it touches the right side headphone as I walk it activates the touch controls causing the music to pause, or skip tracks etc. as if though i was touching the headphone randomly with my finger. Is there any way to temporarily turn off the touch controls in this situation, maybe with the app?
