Unfortunatly your 315 doesnt have infared built into it, so what you need to get is a USB or PCMCIA (the card slot on the side of your computer) infared adaptor. If your phone and palm clie have bluetooth then you could look at getting a USB or PCMCIA bluetooth adaptor for the laptop.

Bluetooth is probabulty the best way to go if you can, because you dont have to keep the clie or phone in line with the computers infared port.

Not to sure where you could get a infared adaptor from.

But belking and dlink both make bluetooth adaptors, also sony makes a memory stick bluetooth card that i think could fit in to the memory stick slot on your laptop.
