I have been using Windows 8 and then 10 on this machine for around eight years.
Recently when I came to turn it on nothing happened and I noticed that the caps and numbers lights were flashing very rapidly.
I removed the power and the battery then reinstated both, no change.
Looked on net which said remove all power and hold down power button for 30seconds. Did this, still no change.
Stripped down in order to access cmos battery, removed this for 5 mins, reinstated battery, rebuilt computer still no difference.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to how to overcome this problem.
Seems like more of an internal connection going loose or something similar, have you tried checking with a Sony engineer?
Even if you won't get it inspected/repaired they can still provide you with some general idea of what's going on.
Hope this helps!

Hi JD
Thanks for your reply.
I have contacted Sony and didn't find them very helpful, they said it must be overheating, which it isn't, otherwise take it to a place in Kent which is not much use to me as I live on the Wirral!
As the computer is stuck in what seems like a loop when power is applied it would seem to me that maybe the bios is corrupt?
I have checked the plug-in connections and all seem ok, so I think next stop will be a repair shop.
Once again thank your advice.
Regards
Colin
Do let us know once you get the repair shop's opinion so others can benefit as well.
Good luck my friend!
