Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody else had this issue, I've lost the blueray drive from my computer and am unable to re-install it.
The firmware update on sony's site says its not the correct on for my drive.
If anybody has resolved this issue and knows the correct location of firmware / drivers that work it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kev
Hi scubikev,
welcome to Club Vaio..
Right Click on the Computer desktop icon and select Properties..
In the new System window Click on Device Manager..
Click Continue on the Use Account Window..
Expand CD/DVD drives
Is the drive listed if so do you have a warning icon and what is listed in the Device Status box.?
Hi Thalamus,
Thanks for responding.
The device is listed as a Matshita BD-MLT UJ230AS
However when I check the driver details it'r running on c:\windows\system32\driver\cdrom.sys
Do you know where I can source a more accurate driver?
Thanks
Scubikev
with the same nootebook I have a quite similar problem:
I think since firmware update to 1.01 my UJ230AS only recognizes CD and DVD.
With WINDVD 9 (latest patch included) and Explorer no content on a data or film Blu-ray can be seen.
CD and DVD work properly.
Is it possible to change back to older firmware 1.00, which could solve the problem?
What can we do?
Same problem with my VGN-AW11M (with a Matshita BD-MLT UJ230AS )
Vaio update tell me to update my driver firmware to 1.01 , and since i did it i can't read any blueray anymore.
Please HELP
Thanks
i have the same problem with a sony vaio fw31zj and windows 7 running.
i just cant find a suitable driver... the one from the sony support page doesnt work (same error referred above).
Wont sony provide a solution to this?
Hi Guys I found a fix at long last
Check out this microsoft kb http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
but do the manual fix down the bottom then reboot.
Worked a treat with my matshita uj230as and vista 64.
Thanks for all the other advice
Kev
i have just upgraded to Windows 7 and i am having the same problem where the matshita does not recognise or play blu ray disks. did you ever solve the problem?
Hi Somara50,
Could you solve the problem?
I'm having a VGC-RT2SY with Matshita BD-MLT UJ230AS and since moving to Windows 7 I can't play Blue-ray discs. CDs and DVDs play.
Thanks,
Marton
I was without Blu-Ray for nearly 4 years, I bought my Sony Aw31 specifically for media creation and payed the extra for BR, and Had invested in 100 blank BR archive quality data discs waiting for video project work.... After getting a camera that deserved attention I found myself here in 2016. This solution, specifically the link and the last method on the page, the reg edit....I am delighted, almost given up.
