Vaio Fit15e won't power on

Hi. I have a Vaio Fit15e purchased in sept 14 and all of a sudden it won't power on. The power supply is lit but when plugged into the laptop no power seems to be coming through at all.

ive removed the battery, held power for 30 seconds replaced battery and tried to turn it on but nothing. Tried without a battery at all: nothing.  

Ive read this could mean the power jack needs to be replaced in the laptop but wondered if anyone has any further thoughts. Really can't afford to replace this laptop just over a year in but really disappointed with Sony. Can't believe the laptop is suffering such a major issue this soon.

Have you checked (with a meter) that the power adaptor is actually delivering a charge? The fact that the green LED is illuminated is no guarantee that it is working.

If the power adaptor is functioning correctly then there is the possibility that the power board is faulty. An independent repairer should be able to replace this at a cost of no more than £150.
